ERC és la gran triomfadora de la nit electoral a les comarques gironines. Per primer cop des de la recuperació de la democràcia guanya unes eleccions generals a la província. És la força més votada en deu de les quinze majors poblacions gironines, destacant Girona, Figueres i Olot. Per la seva part, En Comú s'imposa a grans municipis de la Costa Brava, com Blanes, Lloret o Sant Feliu de Guíxols. CDC manté el feu de Castell-Platja d'Aro i el PP Roses.
